Edges 3D Printed Metal Bottle Opener

35.00

This keychain bottle opener was designed first as a solid model, then as a surface mesh, which was converted to a lattice of rods using a special script, and then 3D printed in metal. The printing process involves laying down layers of powdered metal, and using an adhesive to bond the powder together where the model is built. The whole printer bed fills with powder, and upon completion, each model is extracted from the bed, and baked in an oven that brings each powder granule up to a melting point, creating a stable, physical bond throughout the printed part.

This attractive, tear-drop piece is super lightweight but also super strong. It will live on your keychain or wherever you would like it. When it is not opening bottles, it will look like an object from the future, which, in many ways, it is.
