Voronoi 3D Printed Buckle

The Voronoi 3D Printed Buckle sits at the absolute edge of modern fabrication technology. Modeled first in solid and then polygon mesh environments, the Voronoi was then 3D printed in metal. The printing process involves laying down layers of powdered metal, and using an adhesive to bond the powder together where the model is built. The whole printer bed fills with powder, and upon completion, each model is extracted from the bed, and baked in an oven that brings each powder granule up to a melting point, creating a stable, physical bond throughout the printed part. This technology does not only give us the ability to create geometry that would be impossible by any other means, it also leaves beautiful layer marks, like topographical lines, around the model, adding texture to the organic forms. Over time the edges of these layers will burnish and shine, enhancing the effect inherent in the cutting edge process

The Voronoi 3D Buckle is made with a swinging bracket that will fit any 1-1/2" snap belt. It measures 2.5" wide x 1-7/8" high x 3/8" deep, and comes in two finishes: Steel and Bronze.
